The inspiration came simply from the idea of

representing all 14 lottery positions in the

NBA draft. An original draft included the

regular numbered lottery balls to maintain

a subtlety but ultimately, the imagery

is more poignant with Sportsbooks.

To achieve the desired depth and framing,

blender was used to position the lottery balls.

The Sportsbooks' logos have been altered with a

grainy inner glow on Photoshop to add more

texture later into the project.

Two final versions of the project exist.

The alternate version on the right plays it

safer with deep, hardline shadows against

a grainy, white radial gradient. The text

looks blurred and grainy, blending in with the

blurred lottery balls.

The final version overlays the gradient back on top

of the image with a soft light blending mode. This

inverts the image, making the text a light source

of sorts. I'd like to think this version relays

the nefarious/subversive angle of the subject better
