The inspiration for this project stemmed from
the "dramamine" meme format. A recent trend
that juxtaposes unserious text against
beautiful scenery. Jared McCain's Tik-Tok
centric branding made the format a no-brainer
to highlight his rookie of the year case
before his injury
Player is cutout in ProCreate frame-by-frame against
a monochrome background. This background is torn
away to reveal a scenic mountain vista within
a rounded square frame. To add some texture
and a more-vintage feel, the scenic footage
is curved to mimic a fisheye and film grain is
added.
The phrase "I'm rookie of the year" appears
word-by-word in-sync with his mouth, with
significant words like rookie and year highlighted.
The result is an eye-catching, condensed
version of the meme format that breaks conventions
by having the subject in frame and against a
different song, but maintains the spirit.
